As our prospectus is often the first contact a prospective student has with us, it is important that we portray an accurate and lasting first impression. This year we have reduced the size of our 2012-13 Prospectus in order for it to fit in a handbag for ease of use and distribution. We also took the decision to use some brighter colours and imagery after feedback from students about last years’ prospectus.

The biggest development with the 2012-13 Prospectus however is the introduction of some brand new Health and Wellbeing courses!

LCBT are pleased this year to be able to offer a range of new Health and Wellbeing courses accredited by the Active IQ awarding body. There has always been a strong link between the Beauty, Health and Wellbeing sectors and now LCBT are in a position to bring all three together under one roof!

If this wasn't enough, LCBT are now also venturing into Apprenticeships in some varied sectors including Retail, Customer Service and Leisure Management.

The front and back cover of the 2012-13 Prospectus now also reflect the vast range of courses on offer at LCBT.

We have been having fun in the LCBT office this week designing our new prospectus for the 2012-13 academic year! Having spoken to lots of students (past, present and future!) we have decided to bring the look of our prospectus up to date a bit. You can look forward to some more vibrant colours and a practical handbag sized shape too. In addition to the new look and feel, you may also notice that LCBT are planning to expand and offer some brand new courses next year, but we will keep this under wraps for now!

Although we have been looking at the academic year ahead, we have not taken our eye off the remainder of the 2011-12 academic year! There are still plenty of Level 1, 2 and 3 courses scheduled before 1st August 2012 that have some places remaining. And there is good news for 16-18 year olds… If you enrol on one of these courses (before August 2012) you will be entitled to free kit, materials and uniform! This means not only will you save £215, but you will not have to pay a single penny for your course… at all!

This special offer is valid for new learners coming to LCBT, or current students wanting to progress on to the next level that have not already paid and confirmed their place on a course.

On Thursday 29th March group L049 successfully managed to host a charity ‘Beauty Palace’ event, based on the theme of the Monarchy, Kings and Queens from around the world with the aim to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Treatments such as manicures, facials and waxing were offered to our friends and family who came to support the event. While a wide variety of home made sweet and savoury snacks were on offer to complement the treatments.

For a limited time LCBT are pleased to be offering under 19 year olds completely free courses if they enrol before the new academic year in August.

Although tuition for LCBT’s Beauty Therapy NVQ’s has always been funded by the government, LCBT are now offering young people free kit, materials and uniform too! This means 16-18 year olds will save over £200 by beginning a course between April and July 2012.

LCBT understand the financial pressures that are often put on young people who attend full time education so encourage under year olds to book on to an Open Day now and enrol on a beauty course before then of the year in order to save money.

As such we have increased the number of Open Days throughout the Easter Holiday breaks to meet the demand that we expect this offer to bring with it. So call 020 7208 1300 or email info@lcbt.co.uk to book on to an Open Day which usually occur every Tuesday and Friday or on the following dates:

1 million women are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer worldwide each year. In the UK, 50 women are diagnosed and 20 die every day and yet, awareness and funding of gynaecological cancers remains low. This is why it is important to LCBT to support The Eve Appeal who are determined to change this through funding vital research focused on developing effective methods of prediction, detection, and treatment that will help save women's lives not only in the UK but throughout the world.

On 10th May 2012, LCBT will embark on the challenge to break a world record… again! LCBT are attempting to file and varnish over 3000 volunteers nails all in aid of The Eve Appeal and the wish granting charity Rays of Sunshine. We aim raise vital finds and awareness for both charities.
